Atingi has been Deputy Governor since 29th March 2020 and his contract was set to expire on 23rd April 2025. The Judicial Service Commission has this evening denied and distanced itself from reports that president Museveni had appointed the Deputy Chief Justice, Justices to the Court of Appeal and another to the Supreme Court. While interviewing state house big lady general Prossy Nalweyiso, youtuber Dean Saava lied to her that he was being persecuted by high court judges and online media regulators like UCC because of his determination to fight corruption. The Ministry of health has this afternoon confirmed an outbreak of the very contagious Ebola disease in Kampala. The Electoral Commission has today, Monday, commenced the exercise for the general update of the National Voters Register in preparation for the 2025-2026 General Elections. The update exercise will be conducted from 20th January until 10th February 2025 at update stations as shall be publicized for each of the 10,717 parishes/wards throughout Uganda, starting from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm every day, including weekends.
