Police in Kitgum District are investigating a suspected suicide after a Kenyan national and pastor was found hanging from a mango tree in Orom East Sub-county. The deceased, identified as Fred Nkulala, was an adult pastor and peasant farmer residing in Lobiri Village, Katwotwo Parish in Orom East Sub-county. According to a report issued by Aswa East Regional Police spokesperson Joe Oloya, Nkulala’s body was discovered on May 24 by David Lokwang, a resident of the same village, together with another casual worker. Bushenyi District health authorities are investigating a suspected case of Ebola involving a 22-year-old man who was referred to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for isolation and further assessment. According to the Bushenyi District Health Officer, Dr Stephen Twinomugisha, the suspect travelled from Kashenshero Sub-county in Mitooma District on Saturday evening and began developing symptoms on Sunday. Dr Twinomugisha said the patient presented with symptoms associated with Ebola, including general body weakness, headache, fever, and bleeding from the eyes and nose.
