President Museveni has this evening announced that this year’s Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations of 3rd June where the country remembers faithfuls who were killed and burnt during the brutal regime of Kabaka Mwanga in the late 1890s. The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) y signed a Memorandum of Understanding and issued an operational license to US-based Starlink communications guru, paving the way for the satellite internet provider to begin formal operations in the country. The Ministry of Health has confirmed an outbreak of Ebola Bundibugyo Virus Disease following the death of a 59-year-old Congolese national who had been admitted to Kibuli Muslim Hospital in Kampala. According to a press statement issued this evening, the patient was admitted on May 11 after presenting with respiratory distress, fever, epigastric pain, nausea, and difficulty passing urine. His condition later deteriorated, and he died on May 14 while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit, where he reportedly developed bleeding symptoms. Kitgum Main Market is still operating below capacity, more than two years after its commissioning, raising concerns over declining local revenue collection.
