On 21st August 2025, the Electoral Commission confirmed that 207 Ugandans had picked nomination papers to vie for the country’s top job in the general elections which will take place in January 2026. The incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was also among those who picked nomination papers saying he had some unfinished business and needs more five years.
