A promising collaborative engagement on plant nutrition and health management took place today at the Uganda Industrial Research Institute officiated by the State Minister of Primary Health Care Hon. Margaret Muhanga. The meeting was organized by a Voluntary Faith Based National organization Cause Effect Initiative Limited under it’s chapter Nature Heals. At the meeting Hon. Muhanga emphasized the relevance of plants in human health and their ability to boost health with minimal side effects. Following yesterday’s ugly scenes at Kenya’s parliament where angry protesters overpowered police and gained entry to parliamentary buildings forcing police to fire live bullets killing several on spot and injuring many. The protests which took place countrywide were championed by youths famously known as GenZ who were expressing their discomfort with the contentious Finance bill 2024 which was passed yesterday by members of parliament and sent to president to assent his signature. In the news this afternoon, a top Museveni minister has survived being showered with bullets while on field monitoring of mining activities in the South Western District of Kisoro district. Over the weekend, news made rounds that two members of parliament one from the East and another from the west had been summoned by the Criminal Investigations Directorate in Kibuli for questioning. These are connected to the Shs164billion cooperative scandal and were to appear on Wednesday 19th for grilling and questioning.
