Today morning, Kasokoso in Kireka was a scene of drama as police thwarted a political event convened by Kira Municipality Legislator Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda who is the legislator of the same error.
Ssemuju alongside other politicians including Nakawa East Legislator Balimwezo were in Kasokoso today morning to talk to residents following marking of 500 houses for demolition by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).

According to NEMA, owners of these over 500 houses constructed in a wetlands and they were put on notice that soon the environment agency which is currently bitter with wetland encroachers will soon come for them like it did in Nansana and Lubigi.

Ssemuju’s rally however didn’t last long as police arrested him, drove him to his home and the attendees were dispersed. Journalists were not spared too as police fired tear gas to disorganize the rally.
