The Police in Hoima City are holding two suspects on allegations of brutally murdering a boda boda rider. The suspects have been identified as Deo Akugizibwe and Johnbosco Aliganyira, both residents of Hoima City.
The suspects, along with others still at large, are alleged to have brutally murdered Ronald Kisembo, 36, a boda boda rider, and also took off with his Bajaj motorcycle.
Kisembo was reportedly waylaid and murdered in Katasiha cell, Hoima West division, on October 30th, 2026, during the night hours. The assailants reportedly strangled him to death and later dumped his lifeless body in a nearby bush.
Residents later discovered Kisembo’s lifeless body lying in a nearby bush.
The body had bruises around the neck and on the face, an indication that he could have been strangled to death. Police immediately swung into action and commenced investigations.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says that, following the intensified investigations, they have been able to apprehend the two suspects who are currently being detained at the Hoima City Central police station, adding that they are cooperating well with investigators.
According to Hakiza, the hunt for more suspects believed to have participated in the murder is ongoing. He says, once investigations are through, the suspects will be arraigned before the court to be charged with murder.
