Former Speaker of Parliament also NRM National Second Vice Chairperson Female Annet Anita Among has revealed that she will fully cooperate with all the ongoing investigations launched against her by Police and sister agencies to their logical conclusions.
At the height of her troubles are accusations of illicit wealth, corruption and money laundering which have resulted in a serious search on all her residences as security organs comb out all evidence to pin her as the president tightens his noose on her neck after a disastrously corrupt 11th parliament.
“In the meantime, I pledge to continue cooperating with all ongoing investigations as initiated by the relevant organs of the state to get to the root of all the allegations raised”-said Anita Among
Anita Among revealed this while painfully announcing that she has bowed out of the speakership race of the 12th parliament for purposes of harmony and clarity in her party. She also promised to support the candidate whom the NRM party will endorse for the job she has enjoyed over the last 5 years.
Her acquisition of a Shs3.4billion Rolls Royce which was delivered by flight from London at Entebbe Airport has taken centre stage in her troubles being questioned about the source of funds she splashes on her expensive life though she insists it’s a gift from one of her friends.
Sources have it that Anita Among after the search launched on all her residences will be tried in the courts of law and answer to the charges which will be leveled against her. It’s also reported that the same operations might extend to her former Deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa who is also under close surveillance over the same issues of misusing government money.
