Twenty Seven (27) pupils from King David Junior School Ndejje have so been confirmed dead after a bus which was transporting them from a school organized trip to Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa district over turned causing fatalities and injuries to several.

According to a police statement, the accident happened at Chekwatit Village, Kimawa Parish, Kawowo Sub-county in Kapchorwa District when a bus belonging to Liberty Tours and Travel registration number UA108BQ overturned as it returned from Sipi Falls back to Kampala.

The exact number of fatalities and injured isn’t yet clear but reports suggest it was carrying a big number of pupils and teachers.

This is the third fatal accident involving buses and pupils heading for school organized tours in just 6 days. On Tuesday this week, a bus registration number UA551ED owned by Amuria High School was carrying students of  St. Paul S.S.S Katakwi crashed into a stationary truck killing the driver and injuring 15 students. On 10th July a bus carrying students of Mwebaze High School collided with a train in Mukono District as they headed for a trip to Jinja. In this accident, one student and a matron died on spot and left others injured.
