Detectives from UPDF and the Uganda police continue to reign misery on former speaker of parliament Anita Among who has since been abandoned by her close friends for fear of being associated with her predicament veiled in corruption, wasteful expenditures, illicit wealth accumulation and abuse of office which might see her be arraigned in the dock for questioning.
On Monday detectives stormed Anita Among’s other residence in Kigo along the Entebbe Road and harvested a lot of items which will be used as exhibits and evidence as Museveni sounds bells of anti-corruption inside the ears of the Bukedea Women member of parliament who went through unopposed after blocking all her opponents.
Among the items recovered from Kigo were cash stacked in boxes in different currencies of Uganda Shillings, Dollars and Euros. Other items included cameras, laptops, computers, confidential documents which are deemed useful to seal her fate.
The other items recovered were Anita Among’s luxury cars including a Range Rover with customized number plates AAA3 and her Shs3.4billion Brand New Rolls Royce UA426EH which is at the centre of this storm at whose instigation Museveni sanctioned all the operations against the former speaker.
Detectives have again stormed Anita Among’s Nakasero residence along Mackinnon road and seized two more luxury cars; a Toyota Land Cruiser (UBH 138W) and another vehicle (AA630BE) for forensic examination. These were also towed to the police headquarters in Naguru.
The latest operation follows earlier search conducted at Parliament in operation that lasted for 16hours. At parliament, detectives reportedly combed through the offices of the Speaker, Clerk to parliament and the Finance Department in a widening probe into alleged financial misconduct.
