Bukedea Women Member of Parliament is a sad woman for the last one week after her THINGS FELL APART and her big name is NOLONGER AT EASE following a life changing state house meeting where president Museveni told her that despite her huge support for the party and being 2nd National Vice Chairperson Female, he could nolonger entertain her conduct which saw the 11th parliament shadowed with a smoke of corruption.
As told by Julius Ochwinyo in his novel titled FATE OF THE BANISHED, the former speaker who has been very powerful was forced for painfully drop out of the speakership race which she dearly wanted and could do anything to achieve it. Those who used to sing songs of praise and worship as she she raised like fire all went quiet and distanced themselves when she fell like ash from the pinnacle of authority.
Investigators launched a search at her Nakasero residence which lasted for 16 hours over the weekend, they did the same at her other residence in Kigo and yesterday they were at parliament and marked the office she has been occupying as a crime scene as they mounted another search which lasted also 16-hours. All her other residences are reportedly going to be searched same way as detectives piece together evidence to charge her in the courts for corruption, abuse of office, illicit wealth accumulation among other cases.
Whispers of Silence now reveal that sacks of money in different currencies of Uganda Shillings, Euros and Dollars, fire arms, computers, expensive cars are some of the exhibits so far harvested at Anita Among’s residences with more expected as she continues praying to God to send his angels if any can accept to come and intervene in her predicament and maybe pull off a modern day miracle.
When he retracted his endorsement of Anita Among and Thomas Tayebwa for re-election as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 12th parliament, Patriotic League of Uganda patron Muhoozi Keinerugaba instead endorsed West Budama Central legislator Jacob Oboth Oboth for the Speakership and the same was communicated to all PLU affiliated legislators mostly NRM and Independents.
To the surprise of Ugandans, Muhoozi has again re-endorsed Thomas Tayebwa for re-election as Deputy speaker raising questions if indeed the fight is about corruption in parliament, it can’t be Anita Among only to be probed, her deputy equally should have been probed and questioned to ascertain if he’s a clean man to get another term in office as Deputy Speaker.
This publication however takes note of an X post published by outgoing Minister in charge of Youths and Children affairs also a Muhoozi and PLU fanatic Balaam Barugahara who insinuated something beyond the corruption probe sanctioned by president Museveni against his blue-eyed girl Anita Among also the Bukedea Woman MP.
Reports had emerged that Anita Among was eyeing presidency in 2031, she came out and vehemently denied such allegations but according to Balaam, it seems those in the higher authority were not convinced with her explanation. The Minister also events promoter Balaam posted and we quote him verbatim.
“Presidential ambitions crushed once and for all. Next! Anyone obstructing the tsunami wave will be hit politically by the will of the people”-posted Balaam.
Those who have braved to put up a serious contest against President Museveni in elections have paid a heavy price. Besigye who contested four times for now 19 others is in prison facing charges related to treason. NUP principle Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine had to escape from his home to save his life. He was brutalized during the 2021 and 2026 elections and his only crime was to challenge Museveni’s four decade rule.
With Balaam insinuating such at this time, he’s indirectly saying by Anita Among having presidential ambitions it’s not only wrong for her but also a big risk which made those in power unsettled leading to the current state of affairs.
