News coming in this afternoon indicate that security which had camped at Bobi Wine’s home for the last 68 days has vacated and there are no guns at Magere as we write this article.

Hell broke loose at Magere when security which started deploying on the Election day heightened tensions when they raided Bobi Wine’s home in a bid to arrest him just like they had done to two of his deputy presidents for Western and Northern Uganda just before elections.

Bobi Wine managed to escape leaving his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi behind who was also assaulted by the men in uniform who raided the home and destroyed everything in the house reportedly on the orders of the Chief of Defense Forces Muhoozi Keinerugaba who even later posted on his X account claiming his boys did a good job.

Government through it’s spokesperson and minister for ICT and National Guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi insisted Bobi Wine is not wanted while on another hand UPDF which maintained a huge presence at his home through the CDF insisted they wanted him live or dead.

Following the declaration by Baryomunsi that government isn’t looking for Bobi Wine, his relatives including including brothers and sisters tried accessing the Magere home to check but were only met with resistance and were told to seek permission from the IGP who also claimed his hands were tied to grant such access.

Bobi Wine continued hiding until 10 days ago when he revealed in a video post on his social media pages that he had decided to flee the country for several party engagements and would return at some point to continue fighting Museveni’s four-decade rule. His wife and children had also fled few weeks after elections.

Even when he fled the country, security maintained presence at Bobi Wine’s home and when asked, the Deput IGP who was appearing before parliament claimed that they were securing Bobi Wine’s home against any destruction by intruders.

It has now been revealed that the men in Uniform who had held Bobi Wine’s home under siege have today vacated Magere. This publication is not yet aware whether they left in good faith or they left following a formal application to court by the Uganda Law Society compelling them to vacate immediately.
