Happy New Year to you our readers and clients, today the national unity platform has held it’s first press conference of 2025 and the party’s president addressed a number of issues some of which have since elicited mixed reactions.

Bobi Wine called out the regime on corruption which is a disturbing cancer eating Museveni’s government. Ugandans lose a whooping Shs27bn daily and Shs10tr annually per year. According to the NUP principal, government prioritizes bribing opposition politicians to fight fellow opposition instead of social services.

He also urged the youths to engage in leadership at all levels sounding the drums and preparing his stage ready for 2026 general elections which he has already indicated that he will take part despite the flaws in the process.

Bobi Wine declared the new year 2025 as a revolutionary year and another opportunity for oppressed Ugandans to relieve themselves of the dictatorship and authoritarian reign of the military junta.

Bobi Wine also took time to reply to the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) who has made it a routine to post and abuse Bobi Wine on his X account formerly twitter. Yesterday, the CDF made several claims including threatening to behead Bobi Wine but the NUP principal says he doesn’t take this lightly.

He also reflected on the year 2024 which he says was a terrible year and indeed it was, NUP Deputy president Dr. Linah Zedriga for Northern Uganda lost her son, the party also lost Jolly Mugisha who was the party’s Deputy president for Western Uganda. However, Bobi Wine also says the party lost another Deputy President Mathias Mpuuga for Buganda region to corruption.
