Owing to the Kiteezi landfill collapse that left over 35 dead, 100s displaced, president Museveni basing on an IGG report fired Doroth Kisaka, Eng David Luyimbaazi and Dr Daniel Okello from their positions as KCCA bosses and ordered police to institute investigations against the three.
Frank Rusa Nyakaana, the authority’s legal director was named an acting KCCA boss, Robert Nowere as Deputy Executive Director Sarah Zalwango as acting Director Health. As Rusa and his other two colleagues were taking at KCCA, their predecessors were undergoing investigations.

Police would later arrest Luyimbazi, Kisaka and Okello and a court in Kasangati charged the three with neglect and manslaughter. They were remanded to Luzira prisons until they secured bail weeks later.
Now news making rounds indicate that president Museveni has appointed Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki as KCCA’s new Executive Director and Beno Kigenyi as her Deputy. The news has been confirmed by Museveni’s media aide Faruke Kirunda who said after appointing the two, Museveni forwarded their names to the public service for formalization.
Sharifah Buzeki who is a commissioner at the ministry of public service for human resource becomes the third woman to be appointed by president Museveni to head KCCA after Jenifer Musisi and Dorothy Kisaka. The only man who headed the authority was Eng Andrew Kitaka who headed the authority on interim basis when Musisi left and Frank Rusa who has led the authority for the last three months after Kisaka was fired.
