Come March 2025, which is next year, more than 2,000 business leaders and entrepreneurs from all over the globe will be converging at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Canada for the 2025 edition of Black Women Business Exhibition & Professional Convention.

Organized by an organization called Black Women Business Network (BWBN), the two-day event will specifically take place on 21-22 March and according to chief convener Pasima Sule (who is also the Executive Director for BWBN) not less than 2,000 entrepreneurs, professionals and industry leaders from across the world are expected to descend on Vancouver Convention Centre in Canada for the event.

The overall objective for the event, which has been happening annually in Canada for the last three years, is to bring together stakeholders to celebrate achievements while reflecting on the potential of Black women entrepreneurs and professionals besides providing a platform for professional and business networking opportunities. Pasima, who has been organizing the event for the last three years, says it will be “a transformative experience” for the more than 2,000 attendees.

Besides the conferencing sessions, the upcoming convention will also feature a dynamic exhibition for black women entrepreneurs to showcase their products, expert-led masterclasses and an inclusive career fair all of which will enable the fostering of connections and opportunities across diverse industries.

Coming from across the globe, though there is going to be a lot of emphasis on participants from Africa whose empowerment and exposure to opportunities Ms Pasima is very passionate about, the attendees will be able to get exposed to life-changing networking opportunities with global industry leaders and Canadian stakeholders.

Those coming to exhibit products will have a once in a life time opportunity to publicize their brands to international buyers and in the process create market linkages and generate revenue for their businesses.

Besides the masterclasses, which enhance business growth and individual personal professional development, the upcoming convention will also come with tailored workshop sessions to which the attendees will be exposed. The anticipated large gathering of movers will also naturally come with potential to cultivate partnerships and direct linkages with key stakeholders.

The career fair, which will be attended by top Canadian employers and agencies’ representatives, will also enable attendees to explore job opportunities. Yet that isn’t all. For the entrepreneurs participating, the upcoming convention will expose them to ideas and insights on how to gain access and break into the Canadian market besides exposure to Canada’s cultural diversity.

Specifically speaking about the exhibition, Ms Pasima says it will be a unique platform for black women entrepreneurs to be able to showcase their talent, innovative products and services alongside indigenous women artisans.

“This collaboration highlights the rich diversity of our business community and celebrates cultural heritage through arts, crafts and cutting-edge innovations,” says Ms Pasima, a Canadian citizen.

“Our inclusive career fair connects both local and international candidates with exciting job opportunities. Leading Canadian employers across various industries are eager to tap into our diverse talent pool, offering roles that span from entry-level positions to executive leadership besides accessing them to the most-in demand jobs in Canada.”

Describing the anticipated atmosphere at the Vancouver Convention Centre come 21-22nd March as “supportive and inspiring,” Ms Pasima says participating in the upcoming event for 2025 will amount to being exposed to “an unforgettable experience of empowerment, innovation and connection.”

She adds that: “Together, we are shaping the future of global business and careers at black women in Canada and around the world.” This is all corroborated by a message posted on the organizers’ website (www.bwbnexpo.com) will reads as follows: “BWEPC 2025 offers a truly global perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing black women in business today. Whether you are an established entrepreneur or just starting your career journey, you will find valuable insights and connections here.”

Because of the reputation the annual convention’s organizers have built over the years, the Canadian government is increasingly becoming interested and getting involved in co-organizing and facilitating (via eased up visa processing) international attendees’ participation in that of 2025. In the Convention of 2023, the Canadian government registered its endorsement of the same when their Jobs, Economic Development & Innovations Minister Hon Brenda Bailey and Hon Harry Brains, the Minister of Labour for British Columbia participated in the convention as keynote speakers.

And for the case of the 2025 edition, organizers are expecting notable keynote speakers from the Federal & provincial governments, the public and private sectors of Canada.

Themes to be covered include Business Growth & Entrepreneurship: Strategies for scaling & innovating black-owned businesses; International Trade & Market Expansion: Accessing global markets & cross-border opportunities; Professional & Career Development: Enhancing Skills & advancing in various industries and Technology & Artificial Intelligence: Leveraging cutting-edge tech for business & career advancement.

And all the information concerning how one gets to be aided to go about visa processing and subsequently getting themselves booked or processed to be among the attendees can be obtained at www.bwbnexpo.com (or by emailing via expo@blackwomencanada.org and lenora@blackwomencanada.org).

Some of the speakers at the Convention will include Aritzia’s Bukkie Adewuyi (internal audit & risk advisory expert), award-winning Pasima Sule herself, Executive Director Cognitive Analytics James Rout and President Museveni’s CEO Forum Uganda Head Irene Mugisha Birungi (also former deputy PPS) whose involvement as a special guest signals the extent to which organizers have prioritized oil-rich Uganda’s visibility and participation as an emerging influencer of things within the Sub-Sahara African region at upcoming Vancouver Canada Black Women Entrepreneurs event slated for March next year. Renowned for her enthusiasm about private sector, Ms Birungi will speak during a masterclass session themed: “Unlocking the Power of the CEO in You.”

Uganda’s growing involvement with BWBNExpo has a history during the preceding years, PSFU has been sending powerful delegations including one that was led by Director Dr. Aisha Kasolo Biyinzika Ruth who made powerful submissions as a keynote speaker and positively managed to portray Uganda as an emerging economic power in the Sub Saharan African region that can’t be ignored or disregarded anymore.

Dr. Kasolo characteristically spoke very eloquently about the vast and limitless private sector business opportunities that abound in Uganda and thereby fascinating many in the audience. Even this time round, PSFU is expected to be conspicuous at the Vancouver Convention.
