In the news again this morning, former Member of Parliament for Moroto Municipality and NRM’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) boss for Karamoja region Hon Simon Peter Aleper has died this morning.
Aleper who was MP for Moroto municipality in the 9th Parliament of 2011-2016 is said to have perished in a motor accident today early morning along the Mbale-Tirinyi road though details of the accident were still scanty at the time of publishing this story.

He contested again in 2016 as independent after failing to secure the card but lost to Hon Angella Fred who was carrying the NRM ticket and he never contested in 2021. At the time of his death at 50 years, Aleper was the Vice Chairperson of NRM for Karamoja region.
