The duo were arrested together with another legislator Paul Akamba of Busiki county and were all returned to court last Friday 14th June but Mutembuli and Namujju failed to secure bail. Their colleague Akamba managed to secure a Shs13million cash bail.
Hell broke lose for Akamba when he was only able to walk from the court rooms but didn’t make it to his home as non uniformed army guys re-arrested him at the court entrance and bundled him inside a waiting white Noah vehicle.
Reports indicate that details regarding his whereabouts remain scanty and unknown ever since he was re-arrested on Friday evening shortly after parting with Shs13 million cash for his bail. However, sources claim that his re-arrest is connected to the Shs164billion Cooperative cash involving several MPs and a state minister from Eastern Uganda.
Prosecution alleges that the three legislators Mutembuli, Akamba and Namujju early last month reportedly demanded a 20% cut from the Chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission Mariam Wangadya from the enhanced budget of the commission.
