After firing Dorothy Kisaka who he had just handed another term after an IGG report pinned her and other two KCCA bosses for neglect in the fatal Kiteezi landfill collapse, Museveni has named her successor who is now Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki. The president also named Benon Kigenyi as her Deputy. Buzeki becomes the third woman to take the helm at KCCA after Jenifer Musisi (April 2011-December 2018) and Dorothy Kisaka (June 2020- September 2024). Owing to the Kiteezi landfill collapse that left over 35 dead, 100s displaced, president Museveni basing on an IGG report fired Doroth Kisaka, Eng David Luyimbaazi and Dr Daniel Okello from their positions as KCCA bosses and ordered police to institute investigations against the three. Frank Rusa Nyakaana, the authority’s legal director was named an acting KCCA boss, Robert Nowere as Deputy Executive Director Sarah Zalwango as acting Director Health. The outspoken opposition politician has died from Namirembe hospital where he had been admitted for some time.
