The General Court Martial sitting in Makindye has adjourned the hearing of Dr Besigye and his co Accuse Hajji Obeid Lutale to 10th December 2024 giving enough time to the Law Council to issue a temporal practicing License to Besigye’s lead Lawyer Martha Karua who showed up in court with out it. The May 2024 Population & Housing Census established that Uganda currently has 45.9m people. A majority of these (13m) live in Buganda sub region, followed by Busoga (4.4m) and Karamoja has the lowest population size among all the UBOS statistics sub region of Uganda-1.4m. The 45.9m people live in a total of 10,698,913 households whose average size is 4 persons. The newly released 2024 census report by UBOS is 380 pages and covers many things including the availability of toilet facilities and the ease with which majority Ugandans can access the same. The report shows that in many parts of Uganda, access to decent toilet facilities remains very constrained, something that exposes many of Uganda’s children to poor sanitation-related vulnerability.
