In a terrifying new development this evening, Dr. Kiiza Besigye has collapsed in court as state presented one of it’s witnesses in the treason case which the four-time presidential candidate is battling alongside his political aide Hajji Obed Lutale and Captain Denis Oola.
Besigye was appearing before the defiant Justice Emmanuel Baguma who has since appointed state lawyers for Besigye owing to his yet to be decided application pertaining his representation in court since all his lawyers are not able to represent him. Besigye says some have even fled the country, some have been intimated while the lead lawyers Counsel Martha Wangari Karua was deported and labeled persona non-grata and Erias Lukwago is in prison battling a case related to the one Besigye is accused of.
Besigye was grabbed from Nairobi in November 2024 and has been in prison since then with all bail applications rejected even with substantial sureties but denied over the political nature of the case in which state accusing him of plotting to kill president Museveni and end his four-decade rule through a coup-de-tat.
In a video obtained by this publication, Besigye who was battling it out with Justice Baguma in court is heard telling the witness to stop several times before he collapsed in the dock forcing the judge to suspend the proceedings to allow Besigye access medical attention.
