JUST IN: Gov’t Chief Whip Obua Whipped Again In Ajuli County Repeat Elections

Following the parliamentary Elections held almost two weeks ago, declaration of the winner in Ajuli county in Alebtong District represented by Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua was delayed over some 18 polling stations which the incumbent contested claiming irregularities.

As Electoral Commission held the Division, Municipality and sub-county elections today, repeat Elections in the 18 contested polling stations in Ajuli county and voters turned up in big numbers to make their voice heard.

The battle has been between the Government Chief Whip Obua and UPC’s Fred Jalameso who had initially whipped the government Chief Whip hands down on 15th January until the last hour when his petition over the contested 18 polling stations was given green light.

The votes from the repeated 18 polling stations, Obua garnered 2569 votes while Jalameso got 2122 votes. These were added on the previous results earlier collected on 15th January from the 160 polling stations. After adding, Obua’s votes totaled to 15568 while those of UPC’s Jalameso had his votes total to 16336.

The other candidates who include Ongom Emmanuel Okwel of FDC got 2874 votes, Molo Tom Jaspher an independent candidate got 1585 votes while Omala Steven got 519 votes.  The returning officer of Alebtong District Mr. Olobo Micheal declared UPC’s Jalameso Fred as the dully Elected Member of Parliament for Ajuli County in Alebtong District.
