President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is seeking the seventh term of leadership was nominated yesterday by the Electoral Commission to run for presidency in the forth-coming elections of 2026.

Museveni after nomination briefly addressed journalists before heading to Kololo independence grounds where he unveiled his campaign manifesto under the theme PROTECTING THE GAINS to his supporters who showed up in big numbers.

The president unveiled new plans for a better Uganda which he has led for the last 40 years since taking over power in 1986 after a 5 years bush war in the jungles of greater Luwero in Buganda region.

Museveni while at Lweza in a post nomination media briefing urged Ugandan youths to stop going to Dubai. He revealed that Uganda has enough jobs via the four main sectors; Commercial Agriculture, ICT, Services and the Manufacturing.

The president now says going forward in his new term if voted, there will be no more potholes in tarmac roads in Uganda which dominate many roads in Uganda and partly to blame for the accidents.

“We are going to ensure that the laxity of allowing a tarmac road to deteriorate then you come and repair them after developing potholes will not happen again.”-said Museveni
