President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is still on his PDM tours which he started from Bukedi, Teso, Sebei, Busoga, Lango, Kigezi, Ankole, Rwenzori, Bunyoro, Tooro and now traversing Buganda region where he’s having face to face interactions with Ugandans about his government’s Parish Development model.

He’s been in traversing Wakiso for the last four days. While speaking to residents in Entebbe, Museveni elicited mixed reactions when he literally told off the residents that they deserve the poor service delivery because they voted opposition politicians who haven’t done much to help their voters.

According to Museveni, in voting opposition politicians; voters just lifted them from the biting poverty and they’re in parliament getting free salaries. The president faults the opposition fellas he refers to as OBUSAJJA BWA OPPOSITION for not following up government programs like PDM, Emyoga among others.

“I was coming from Kasanje, the road their is not so good. I sympathized with the people there about their bad road. I told them that the Banyankole have a saying that a person who has hanged himself is not mourned because those people in Kasanje voted the opposition fellas [obusajja bwa opposition]. I hear you did the same even here in Entebbe, those people you voted, you saved them from poverty because they were poor are now in parliament earning free salaries…”-the president said.

During his PDM tours in Wakiso, the president has launched several projects. He yesterday launched the Bukasa-Ssentema Kakiri road and emphasized that his four-decade government is ready to continue it’s commitment on improving the country’s road network.

Museveni has since been nominated by his party NRM as it’s presidential candidate is now putting his eyes on the 2026 general elections to extend his grip on power to 45 years. He sailed through unopposed as the party disqualified the other candidates who wanted to challenge him on the NRM ticket.

In the 2021 general Elections, Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform swept most elective positions in Buganda becoming the Majority opposition outfit in Kampala though Museveni later claimed that NUP stole his votes in Kampala.
