The death of Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya continues to send shockwaves among his supporters, family and friends after losing a long battle of sickness at the Lubaga Hospital in Kampala.
Many people have described Ssegirinya as a true face of the down trodden who cared for every one at their lowest and would anything with his means to save or care for anyone and his passion to help drove him to start a hospital for his constituents in Kawempe.
Ssegirinya rose from being a radio caller to now a politician that each one is praising today. He joined active politics as Lord Councilor in Kawempe and would later become a member of parliament on the National Unity Platform ticket a party that was just 5 months on the eve of the 2021 general elections.
The deceased while he was alive made several statements among which included thanking Bobi Wine for enabling him to become an MP. Ssegirinya said Bobi Wine should be thanked by the mourners so so much and even be allowed to speak for five hours at his funeral and if he has more to speak, he should even continue till late.
It remains a question of whether the family will respect some of these things that the late Ssegirinya willed. He will be laid to rest tomorrow in Kaddugala, Nyendo Mukungwe in Masaka city.
