The dark days of ‘panda gari’ seem to be back in Uganda having gone quiet for three years since 2022 after National Unity Platform reported forced abductions of their top leaders by men holding guns. The country last experienced these dark days mostly during the reign of President Idi Amin Dada. The voices calling for the release of firebrand opposition politician Dr. Kiiza Besigye continue getting louder everyday ever since he appeared in court last week looking week, frail and struggling to breathe.
