As the country gears up for the 2026 general Elections, Uganda Police has been accused of bias, being partisan in the way they execute their duties while enforcing the guidelines issued by the Electoral Commission and the relevant laws regarding assemblies and campaigns.

Uganda Police in this campaign has been seen forcing opposition candidates to trek long routes in villages to reach their campaign venues while leaving the NRM candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni using highways with ease.

Uganda police has also issued a ban on processions and has enforced such a ban with bullets, firing tear gas and running battles with opposition supporters and the same police has been seen instead clearing the roads for processions of NRM supporters. Police has even also been seen deploying over 10 trucks to track Bobi Wine’s movements wherever he goes especially currently when he’s campaigning in Buganda.

Now in a video making rounds on social media, a Uganda Police truck has been captured on video ferrying NRM supporters to an NRM rally as Museveni campaigns in Mbarara City today eliciting mixed reactions.
