In the news this morning, retired Assistant Commissioner of Police who also served as the Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander has died from Mulago hospital after battling Prostate cancer and kidney failure.
News about his death was first shared widely yesterday but relatives and the Uganda Police force would later refute the news but revealed that the tough former police boss was still alive but on oxygen.
Omala shot to the limelight 13 years ago when he tormented Dr. Kiiza Besigye during the days of walk to work. At the time of his death he had however regretted his actions and even apologized to whoever he had hurt during his active days of service and line of work.
He worked for a long period with the Uganda police force raising through the ranks and the time of his retirement, he was at the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police. Captain Mike Mukula would later pick him up and recruited him in his private security company Arrow Security Systems as Director Operations and Deputy CEO.
