News coming in indicate that a bus belonging to the YY bus company plying the Kampala-Mbale route has caught fire and a yet to be known number of passengers are feared dead this evening.
The accident happened near Makindu trading centre in Najja sub-country in Bwikwe district along the Mukono-Katosi-Njeru road and the cause of the accident is not yet known as we await for the police statement.
This accidents come at the time when accidents have increased on Ugandan roads in recent years with the recent one having happened at the Busabala junction in Kampala claiming the life of Rajiv Rupareria the son of billionaire Sudhir Rupareria.
Police’s crime report of 2024 revealed that over 20,000 accidents happened on Ugandan roads and claimed over 5000 people.

When we say police should observe speed limit people say police are slowing down people’s movements and wanting money and yet it’s there lives.people let’s weake up it’s not police only to observe this let’s help police be it’s our lives
Anyway it’s pitty bad but the number plate is UAV 701C and 20 people are survived and the number of who deceased there not knowned
