UEFA have appointed François Letexier as the referee for the Champions League Quarter-final second leg between Real Madrid and Arsenal later this week on Wednesday. Letexier will take charge of the high-stake encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid who are the defending Champions come to this game looking to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the first leg last week at the Emirates in London courtesy of Declan Rice’s two superb Free Kicks and Mikel Merino’s tap.
Letexier is a French referee and officiates games in the French Ligue 1. He has previously refereed the Euro 2020 2020 final in Germany between Spain and England and this is the fifth time the 35-year-old will be officiating a Real Madrid game.
He was in charge of the group stage clash where Madrid lost 2-0 to Liverpool this season. He last season also refereed the first leg of the quarter finals at the Santiago Bernabeu against Manchester City, which ended in a 3-3 draw and the group stage clash against Napoli where Real Madrid won 4-2.
