Bobi Wine who says was born at Nkozi hospital in Mpigi district dedicated this 43rd birth to the same hospital by giving back to patients and mothers who had delivered that day. Below is his message.
“On Friday, 12th February 1982 during the NRA war, I was born in Nkozi hospital, to Margaret Nalunkuuma and JW Sentamu. Today I decided to visit the hospital where I was born, to share some love with the new mothers and babies who were born on the same day in the same hospital. I appreciate the hospital administration for allowing me to visit and for welcoming me warmly. I am so grateful for the kind messages and the outpouring of love from all of you friends, I am really humbled. May the rest of our days be the best of our days. Cheers to 43”
However, amidst the deteriorating situation of health centres in Uganda, Dr.Kiiza Besigye’s Wife who is also the Director of the UNAIDs Dr. Winnie Byanyima has called upon Bobi Wine to speak up and add his voice on the flaws in the health sector and the injustices in the country.
Byanyima highlights why Bobi Wine visit at the health facility to donate to the patients would have been best if he has commented on the health services of Nkozi hospital, finding out how the health workers are managing to work and also feed their families.
Please comment on the state of health services at Nkozi hospital. Did you ask patients about that? Did you find out how health workers are managing to work and also feed their families? We need your voice @HEBobiwine https://t.co/uQcB9716wF
