What started as a mere summon to the police CID headquarters in Kibuli to record statements and answer a few questions for three Members of Parliament culminated into two nights inside the police cells of Kira police and consequently denial of bail and remand to the cold gates of Luzira prisons.
Cissy Namujju [Lwengo District], Yusuf Mutembuli [Bunyole East] and Paul Akamba [Busiki County] were yesterday remanded to Luzira prisons after not pleading guilty to charges leveled against them by the DPP. The three are accused of soliciting 20% of the enhanced Budget of the Uganda Human Rights Commission from the commission boss Mariam Wangadya.

Reports indicate that the president who is now furnished with evidence on Ministry of finance officials, accounting officers and members of parliament conniving to manipulate budgets has ordered CID and other investigation bodies to cast their nets to arrest more officials including members of parliament.
There’s a growing cloud of panic and fear at parliament as some members of parliament are shying away from Parliamentary avenue fearing to be arrested. Reports further suggest that some have even stayed away from attending Budget reading session at Kololo fearing to be nabbed by their collars.
