On 22nd December 2023, Nakawa West legislator Joel Ssenyonyi fell in things after he was elevated from chairing the COSASE committee which majority say he performed well and was named the new Leader of Opposition for the remaining part of this term. Nyendo-Mukungwe legislator Mathias Mpuuga was instead sent to the parliamentary commission. Six people have been confirmed dead, while three others sustained injuries in a road crash that occurred this morning on 12/06/2024 at Kakiika along Ntungamo-Rukungiri Road in Ntungamo District at 0610hrs. The crash involved motor vehicles UBN 337H, a Toyota Hiace, and UAP 385U, an Isuzu bus belonging to Kasaaba Bus Company. It’s a state of pain and grief in Malawi after authorities finally located the plane carrying Malawian Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima which went missing yesterday after efforts by Malawian aviation authorities went unsuccessful since Monday morning. In a statement released by the president’s office in Malawi, the Vice president was traveling with nine other passengers at the time the aircraft went missing.
