Early this month, Mawokota South legislator also FDC Whip in the 11th parliament Honorable Yusuf Nsibambi led a group of opposition politicians to meet president Museveni in what they said was meant to calm tensions after elections.

Among those who went with Nsibambi included Okot Bitek of Kioga county (FDC), Moses Kabuusu of Kyamuswa (PFF), Roland Ndyomugyenyi of Rukiga County, former Kasese MP Robert Centenary and former Kawempe North MP Latif Ssebagala.

The other notable one’s included Mukono South MP Fred Kayondo (DP), Richard Lumu of Mityana South among others including those from Bobi Wine’s NUP who are yet to be know to the public.

“The meeting was about peace and reconciliation for the development and stability of the country, especially after the general elections that left some people’s tempers high”-said Nsibambi after meeting Museveni.

Ever since he met Museveni, Nsibambi has been castigating opposition claiming they’re aimless without direction. The Mawokota South MP who lost in the January Elections was too bitter with his electorates whom he accused of not appreciating the good things he did for them including constructing for them roads, water sources and connecting them to the National grid which he destroyed immediately after knowing they dumped him for another candidate.

Now after finishing the processes and nit gritty just like any person switching sides, Honorable Yusuf Nsibambi has ditched the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and joined NRM publicly at the NRM secretariat franked by speaker Anita Among who also came from FDC with Deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa.

He’s the first to switch from Najjanankumbi to Kyadondo road publicly among those who met the president early this month. Rumors suggest Nsibambi is poised for a big appointment in Museveni’s government.

Nsibambi said his decision to NRM is deliberate, arguing that the opposition in parliament in parliament lacks clear direction and a defined agenda for the people it represents hence his switch to the Yellow camp to protect his gains.
