President Museveni in August appointed Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo as the new Principal Judge becoming the first woman to hold such a position in the history of Uganda since Independence.
Prior to her appointment as Principal Judge, Abodo was the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). She replaced Dr. Flavian Nzeija who was the principal judge who had been appointed the Deputy Chief Justice after the retirement of Richard Butera.
After almost two months without a substantive DPP, President Museveni has appointed Lino Anguzu as the new Director of Public Prosecutions. Anguzu has been an assistant DPP in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and his name has been forwarded to parliament for approval.
H.E @KagutaMuseveni has appointed Mr. Lino Anguzu as the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Mr. Anguzu, who has been serving as Assistant DPP, replaces Justice Jane Frances Abodo, recently appointed Principal Judge.
