The National Unity Platform released the list of it’s flag bearers in Jinja City. All came as surprise for the position of Mayor. The party chose veteran politician Kirunda Mubarak as it’s flag bearer for Jinja mayorship and ditching the incumbent Peter Kasolo Okocha.
Kasolo surprisingly became Jinja city’s mayor on NUP ticket but he immediately distanced himself from the party without taking part in most of it’s activities which must have angered the bosses at Kavule to opt for Kirunda Mubarak who even donated an office to the party in Jinja City.
The mayor Kasolo has since revealed that he’ll come as an independent candidate sighting unfairness in picking the flag bearers by National Unity Platform. The other disgruntled NUP diehard is Kelvin Tasi also known as Bobi Giant who missed out on the part ticket.
The has Kirunda Mubarak as flag bearer for mayor in Jinja city, Kasirye Simon for Jinja Southern Division mayor and Wabika Ayub for Jinja Northern Division.
The others are Magoba Prossy for Women councilor Jinja South division West, Nakabugo Hadijja for Jinja North Division West and Ssewanyana Patrick for Wanyange Ward.
Former City Speaker Moses Morrison Bizitu also bounced back as the flag bearer for Old Boma ward, Kiswilili Ivan for Central Jinja East Ward and Nakayenze Fatuma for Walukuba West ward.
