Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo born in 1973 in the Karamoja sub-region has been appointed the Principal Judge becoming the 3rd most powerful woman in the ranks of the Judiciary in Uganda.
Until her appointment, she has been the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) since taking on the role in April 2020 replacing Micheal Chibita who joined the Apex bench as a supreme court justice in December 2019.
Abodo has held various positions with in the judiciary. She served as prosecutor still under the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for years before being appointed as a high court judge from 2018 to 2020 when she was appointed Director of Public Prosecutions.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University, a Diploma in Legal practice from the Law Development Centre, and a Master of Laws from Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.
