In the news this evening, former Minister of General Duties in the office of the prime Minister Mary Busingye Karoro Okurut has died this evening at the age of 71 years.
Karoro Okurut has been an author, women rights advocate and educator. She was appointed Minister on 6th June 2016 and at the time of her death, she’s been a senior presidential advisor on public relations.
Her demise has been announced by State Minister for Primary Healthcare Margret Muhanga via her social media accounts describing her as her literature teacher, mentor and close buddy.
