The People’s Front for Freedom, a sprinter group from the FDC main after getting registered by the Electoral Commission a month ago has held it’s first delegates conference and National Convention at their offices on Katonga Road.
The Chief Guest on this big event was Rt Col Dr. Besigye who spoke to the delegates from Luzira prisons where he’s been held since November last year when he was abducted from a Hotel in Nairobi. At this evet, Besigye emphasized Unity in the opposition as the only way to dislodge and put an end to Museveni’s four-decade rule.
Several of the known faces landed juicy positions at the delegates conference. These elected Dr. Besigye as their Supreme Leader, Deputized by Amb Waswa Birigwa on the party’s Council of Eminent Persons.
The other Members on the Council of Eminent persons include; Chapaa Karuhanga, Wafula Oguttu, Wycliffe DK Bakandonda, James Garuga, William Mukaira, Laudislus Rwakafuzi, Ojok B’Leo, Elizabeth Kyewalabye, Amb. Jack Wamanga Wamai, Sarah Sengendo, Kevinah Taaka, Obeid Lutale Kamulegeya and Saul Matte.
Proscovia Night Salaam Musumba was elected as the Speaker of the National Convention Deputized by Keneth Opoka. On the National Executive, Party Chairperson is Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago deputized, Nicholas Thadeus Kamara,Albert Oduman Okello, Betty Aol and Lulume Baiga who joined the party yesterday after failing to dislodge Norbert Mao in DP.
Kira Mucipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda is the party Secretary General and the Spokesperson at the same time. Political Affairs Commission (Office of Secretary General) is Harold Kaija and Kennedy Okello.
Social Services Commission (Health, Education & Social Infrastructure) is headed by iron lady Ingrid Turinawe deputized by Joan Nabatanzi and Robert Onega while the Economic Affairs Commission is headed by Hon Asinansi Nyakato deputized by Hon. Naboth Namanya Cnsl Kabuusu Moses and Mr. Owiny Gordon.
Special Interests Commission is headed by Deputy lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura deputized by Buyondo Henry Patrick, Nangonzi Faridah and Frances Among. Legal , Justice & Human Rights, Defense & Security Commission is headed by Counsl. Moses Tugume and deputized by Counsl. Ronald Wanda.
Defense & Security Commission Secretary is Dr. Ekwaro George while the Finance Commission (Budget, Fundraising &Treasury ) Secretary is Hon. Ronald Muhindo deputized by Hon. Francis Mwijukye and Hon. Roland Kaginda. International Affairs Commission Secretary is Mr. Samuel Makhoha deputized Mr Adikin Joyce Ochiela.
