Despite the loudness of the voices for Besigye’s release, president Museveni has defiantly said those calling for the release of Besigye show question why he was arrested. Museveni has heaped blame on the Supreme Court which halted the trial of civilians in Military courts and this pinned Besigye more on the cross of fire in prison.

Museveni has instead revealed that following the supreme court ruling, his government is taking Besigye’s issue on two front’s, transferring his case to the High court and also his legislators are pushing for amendments to the UPDF act to re-activate trial of civilians in the military courts like never before.

Following their 48 hour ultimatum issued to president Museveni to release Besigye or face mass uprisings, Bobi Wine on behalf of the United Forces of change has announced plans to hold prayers by all opposition politicians for Besigye and other political prisoners and it’s in these prayers that the next course of action will be announced.

This announcement comes barely a day since his eldest brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu alias Chairman Nyanzi was brutally arrested yesterday evening as he awaited traffic lights at the Kubbiri roundabout on his way from the party headquarters. His whereabouts remain unknown.
