Whether it’s his choice of fashion or he was told by his doctor not to put on suits while going to parliament, Kira Municipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda didn’t mince his words on the floor of parliament while roasting a top Museveni minister.
There was a heated exchange of English words as Ssemuju went bareknuckle with Agriculture Minister Frank Kajiji Tumwebaze over his choice of fashion while going to parliament. According to Ssemujju the minister appears to parliament as if he’s going to milk his cows unlike his fellow ministers who show up smartly dressed.
“If you look at the front bench, from where Hamson Obua is seated, you can see smartly dressed Ministers, and I want to commend them, but Frank Tumwebaze has made it a point to come to Parliament as if he is going to milk cows. All the Ministers, see how they are dressed. If Tumwebaze doesn’t respect Parliament, at least he should respect colleagues. Is he in order, to come to Parliament to transact official Government business dressed as if he is going to milk his cows?” asked Ssemujju.
Tumwebaze however defended his choice of fashion by informing Ssemujju that what he was putting on is an African traditional shirt.
Ssemujju Nganda (Kira Municipality) tasked Frank Tumwebaze, Minister of Agriculture to explain why he has repeatedly violated the prescribed dress code required of MPs, by instead choosing to always come to Parliament, dressed as if he is going to milk cows.
