The three members of Parliament who were arrested on Monday and had spent two nights in Kira police cells have been denied bail and sent to the cold gates of Luzira prisons until Friday this week when they will appear to hear their bail application.

The three are; Cissy Namujju [Lwengo District ],Yusuf Mutembuli [Bunyole East] and Paul Akamba [Busiki County] all from the NRM party are accused of corruption related issues Budgeting at parliament which the president talked about last week during his State of the Nation Address.
They were detained on Monday after long hours of questioning at the CID headquarters in Kibuli and were later sent to sleep in the cells of Kira division police. They were yesterday driven to their respective homes where thorough search were done leading to their presentation to court today.
The legislators will now miss the Budget reading event taking place tomorrow at the Kololo independence grounds. According to sources, several other Members of parliament and officials from the ministry of Finance are on the CID radar and might be netted soon as investigations go on.
