By Oweyegha-Afunaduula Our brains are oval and therefore multi dimensional. The number of dimensions is infinite, but we can mention the cultural, ethical, moral, social, economic, political, emotional, psychological, financial, intellectual, technical, scientific, environmental and ecological dimensions. When we say we have to develop as individuals, then development must be experienced along all the various dimensions, and much more. One may be developed in one or two dimensions but underdeveloped in others. This reflects our largely disciplinary education that makes us expert in one but not in other dimensions. Thus, many different types of development and underdevelopment exist and we…
By Nsereko Jonathan Men’s abuse, also known as domestic violence against men, is a serious issue that is often overlooked. Domestic violence has long been considered a women’s issue. However, violence against men by women has become a common problem today. This includes economic, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as psychological abuse that harms a person’s mental and physical health. Both men and women can be victims of gender-based violence. In a country like Uganda, which has been female-dominated for centuries, people find it difficult to believe that men can be victims of domestic violence just like women.…

There are a lot of wars and bickering at several government MDAs in Uganda. These include the following; At Lands, ministers Sam Mayanja and Nabakooba don’t like each other because the senior is uncomfortable seeing the state minister outshining her. Mayanja has solved more land problems than his senior and even Museveni likes him more because as a lawyer he specializes on land matters. At the same ministry, a group of technocrats are always defying and respecting the permanent secretary Dorcus Okalany by undermining her authority. These include Justine Jjuuko the undersecretary from Hoima and the chief accountant Lawrence Nsubuga…

The Uganda Opposition is comfortable to a level where Mr. Museveni feels as if there is no opposition. True the opposition is intimidated and silenced to the extent of being compromised. The judiciary of Uganda is almost dead. What is happening between Kenya and Uganda concerning the Besigye abduction from Kenya is a miscarriage of justice, the absence of the Chief Justice head of the Judiciary who has kept silent speaks volumes about the ineptness of the third arm of Government. This explains that there is a vacuum of Constitutionalism and the rule of law. Framing a person with treasonous…
By Odeke Bazel The ancient proverbs “the pot calling the kettle black” and “sour grapes” come to mind when considering Norbert Mao’s recent criticism of the regime on the rising cost of living. These proverbs are used to describe situations where someone is accusing someone else of something that they themselves are guilty of, or where someone is disparaging something they cannot have. Norbert Mao’s criticism of the regime is a classic case of both the pot calling the kettle black and sour grapes. As the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Mao is part of the same regime he…
