For the better part of the day, Bobi Wine reported significant military presence at National Unity Platform’s offices in Makerere-Kavule and the former headquarters in Kamwokya which currently house the Party’s School of leadership.
According to party spokesperson also Leader of Opposition in parliament, police and army raided the party headquarters, locked out every one restricting access to the premises and started breaking in several offices one by one in the absence of party members.
As questions are swirling surrounding the military operation at the NUP offices, police has come out to issued a three paragraph statement under the subject line POLICE CONDUCTS SEARCH ON ILLEGAL MILITARY TRAINING AT NATIONAL UNITY PLATFORM PREMISES.
“Following reports of unauthorized military drills at the National Unity Platform (NUP) Headquarters in Kavule and their premise in Kamwokya in Kampala City, the Uganda Police, in collaboration with other security agencies, has mounted a coordinated security operation. Our security personnel are conducting searches at the mentioned locations”-reads part of the statement
