A lot has been said about Hon Muhammed Ssegirinya even in parliament where legislators paid tribute to him. Majority described him a down to earth leader who agitated for better leadership and the well being of the people he represented.

Raising from being a radio caller to a political maven who inspired many people humble backgrounds, Ssegirinya was such a soul that majority believe who life would have been saved had it not been president Museveni’s orders to judiciary not to grant bail to individuals accused of murder.

MPs Allan Ssewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya were summoned to Masaka CPS in Spetember 2021 but would later spend over 500 days in prison as prosecution led by Richard Birivumbuka continued blocking their bail applications even when Ssegirinya said he was sick and wanted to be treated.

Many legislators especially from the opposition have attributed his death to the long stay in jail. These contend that had he been allowed to seek medication early enough, the situation wouldn’t have worsened like it did.

Paying his tribute, State Minister of Gender In charge of Children and youth Affairs also events promoter Balaam Barugahara has apologized on behalf of government for any wrong doings the Museveni government might have inflicted on Ssegirinya during his time as a leader and political activist.

“As government and on behalf of government and some one who believes in everyone’s equality, apologize for all the mismanagement during his life when he was on earth and i believe we should do better going forward. We should allow criticism where need be and i pray his soul rest in piece”- Said Minister Balaam
