In the news this morning, Kawempe North legislator Muhammed Ssegirinya is dead. His passing on has been confirmed by NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine via his socials.
Ssegirinya has been bedridden since released from prison at the Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi, Kenya and other hospitals had been discharged after showing signs of healing and was even preparing to resume his parliamentary duties. Unfortunately this hasn’t happened.

He was jailed for over a year in Kitalya prison when the state accused him and his Makindye West counterpart Allan Ssewanyana of being behind the Masaka Bijambiya that left several dead. This after several attempts for bail met dead ends but they were released later.
The sad news of his death has caused shock among his supporters, party members and fellow legislators. He has died at the age of 37 years and becomes the 6th MP to die during this term after former Speaker Jacob Oulanyah, Patrick Okabe, Charles Engora, Cecilia Ogwal, Sarah Mateke.  #RIP Ssegirinya
